The main research interest of our laboratory is to determine the spatial arrangement and temporal activity of the genetic material inside the living cell nucleus. We wish to understand how these impact global gene regulation and hence, cell differentiation. We are using the embryos of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. And mouse embryonic stem cells as experimental models. Analysis is performed using cell and molecular biology techniques as well as state-of-the-art fluorescence microscopy.
